The following entry concluded my internship in TWAH(Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Tsuen Wan) at 2011.
This is a great hospital in the New Territories West with passionate professionals serving clients. (´▽｀) My role is an intern bio-medical engineering student, guided by an excellent mentor to assist her everyday job.

荃灣港安新樓落成病床大增
分階段增至500張收費較舊院貴

荃灣港安新大樓落成，明年將有11張深切治療病床投入服務。（陳國峰攝）

荃灣港安醫院新大樓啟用，料分階段增設病床至500張，包括11張計劃於明年投入服務的深切治療病床，新大樓病房收費較舊院貴，當中加護病房貴500元。
該院兒科及外科率先於本月底投入服務，婦產科亦會於下月相繼投入服務。該院行政總裁楊銘澧指，隨着新大樓落成，全院病床數目將由現時120張，分階段增設至約500張，當中兩成為低收費病床，「明年會先加至300張，及後視乎需求逐步加床，希望到2018年加至500張。」
增聘一倍醫生至40人
新大樓的不同病科病房收費，將較舊院相關病房貴50元至500元，其中加護病房及隔離病房每日2,000元，分別較舊院足足貴500元及400元。
為配合新大樓發展，院方亦會逐步增聘人手，楊銘澧稱，現時450名醫護及支援人員將增至700至800人，「駐院醫生會由現時20人，隨明年病床增一倍，亦會增聘至40人。」
食衞局局長高永文表示，現時本港私院病床數目不足，僅得4,000多張，隨荃灣港安新大樓投入服務，連同未來私院發展，相信2020年後私院病床可增四至五成。

新大樓收費較舊院貴，但未有計劃全院調整收費。

在２０１１年時我曾有機會在荃灣港安醫院實習，

跟著在院一位生物醫學工程師(本科師姊，非常漂亮呦)工作，

約莫十星期左右的時間
亦受這間醫院各同事的照顧。

那時剛好準備擴充大樓的計劃，

說到好久好久後２０１５年左右就竣工....

現在依時完成噗一聲新聞就出來了，
今天突然看到好開心。
我那段時間有狂看醫院電床的比較呢，

醫院的病床有很多SPEC，五位數字一張，

不細心聽廠商介紹拿DM不行。

時機難得，懷念一下那時實習的日子吧。

TWAH荃灣那是一所位處清幽的醫院啊，
間中會有猴子走過。

應該是驗測完ultrasound儀器吧，
那是我的五支手指圖、不是尋常的懷孕照。

也有去過獻血。

醫院裏內窺鏡，有不少出自"olympus"，

自此我對這相機牌子超有信心的。

物理治療用的發光板有一行燈不亮了。

只是線路不通，拿起辣雞動手修理一下。

好了，可以交回出去了耶掰我好強ψ(｀∇´)ψ。

外賣的高級早餐，
跟著ｍｅｎｔｏｒ試了一下，
港安那時代是茹素的不知道現在是不是，
記得某次同事帶我去的豬手麵豪豪吃，
感動得拍了照。
(可惜餐廳名忘了)。

很愛那段快樂日子，
十分興幸當時被TWAH挑了作那年實習學生啊。
現在我ｍｅｎｔｏｒ生物醫學工程師的工作
也有在招空缺哩，

Detail

Holder of a higher Certificate/Diploma or above in biomedical / medical / clinical engineering, electronics engineering or equivalent
1-year relevant experience is preferable. Fresh graduates are welcome
Holding a valid certificate in mandatory basic safety training (Green Card) is preferable

Speak and write fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)

Biomedical Enginnering

Biomedical Engineer (Full-time)

Detail

Duties:

ŸImplement and monitor Medical Equipment Management Plan
ŸDevelop program and system to plan and manage medical device inventory
ŸProvide consultancy services for biomedical technology advancement in the hospital
ŸProvide advisory services on procurement, operation, commission and decommission of medical devices
ŸInstall, calibrate, operate, maintain and repair all medical devices with the ability to liaise with vendor
ŸSchedule preventive maintenance of all medical devices and monitor all maintenance activities
ŸArrange and manage corrective maintenance of faulty medical devices
ŸRecord all maintenance history and evaluate the performance of each device
ŸRespond to and keep record of medical device hazardous alert and recall
ŸInvestigate medical device incidents as defined under the local ordinance and document incidents
ŸManage maintenance service contracts and monitor contractors’ performance
ŸProvide safety training and operation training for clinical staff
ŸIdentify hazards and high risk areas in the hospital
ŸPromote continuous professional growth of the department

Requirement:

ŸHolder of a bachelor degree, or higher, in Biomedical Engineering / Electronic Engineering or a related field.
ŸPreferably with five years’ experience in managing medical equipment.
ŸGood communication skill with mandatory Chinese and English literacy, and fluent in oral English and Cantonese
ŸExcellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
ŸGood customer service skills, communication skills and team oriented
ŸOn call duties in times of urgent call needs and emergencies.
ŸWork on shift (including Sundays)
